Q: On my wedding day, I don’t necessarily want to wear white. Is there anything wrong with this?
A: No, absolutely not. Your wedding day is your day. You are free to wear the dress of your dreams, as that is your right on your special day. Many brides opt for dresses that are Ivory, Eggshell, and Beige vs White. This coming bridal season wedding dresses in color have even been predicted as a huge trend! Some of the country’s top bridal designers have featured wedding dresses in full color in their runway shows to preview the upcoming season. This day in age, a bride can wear what ever her heart desires.
Q: When picking out a wedding dress, where do I even begin?
A: When picking out a wedding dress it can be overwhelming, but take it easy, narrowing down the spectrum can be easier that you think. A good place to start is online. Online you are able to look at lot of dresses at once and add your “favorites” to a list; a list you can even print out and bring with you to stores to find similar looks. Think of the fit you want and search dresses with in that spectrum. Say you like slender form fitting gowns, do a search for those kinds of gowns and with in that look you will find several different shades, lengths, embellishments, and textures.
Q: I want to keep all of my Bridesmaids happy with the dress I pick for them, but they all have such different body types. What can I do in this situation?
A: It is important to make sure your Bridesmaids are comfortable in what they are wearing for your wedding, that being said, it is your special day and having your Bridesmaids fit your vision for your big day is important too. Compromise. Find a happy medium. If you have an assortment of body types among your Bridesmaids considers keeping all of the dresses the same color, with different cuts. There are also a select few dresses out there that look good no matter what the body shape.
