Mother of the Bride dress tips

Just as the wedding day is a big day for the bride, it is for all family involved, especially the mothers of the bride and groom. Within this production of a lifetime, the mothers of the bride and groom play a key role, so why not look the fabulous part? When choosing a dress for the wedding day, mothers of the bride should keep in mind some key Mother of the Bride dress tips:

Follow the lead of the Bridal Party: In selecting a dress for the wedding day, mothers of the bride and groom can look to the bridal party for the level of formality. The bride will have a specific idea of what she wants the bridal party to wear, that being said the mothers of the bride and groom can easily play off of the selected colors and level of formality for selecting their perfect dress.

Color coordinate with the season: Spring weddings blend well with lighter hues and pastels dresses. Summer weddings work well with colorfully toned dresses. Fall weddings blend well with deeper toned dresses, and champagne is a color that transcends all seasons, when it comes to dresses. When searching for that perfect mother of the bride dress, keeping the colors of the season in mind can help to narrow down the search.

Compromise with the bride: If the bride has some dress suggestions for you, hear her out. Have her send you pictures of her ideas for you. It is important for the mother of the bride to also be comfortable with what she is wearing, so try to find a happy medium between what the brides’ vision is and what will be comfortable for the mother of the bride to wear.
