Valentine’s day in Las Vegas is a special kind of Valentine’s day.
There is so much more to Bright Light City than the casinos, the shows, and the parties that don’t end until 6am. Las Vegas isn’t typically known as a “city of love” (I do miss Paris!), but it can be one of the most romantic places in the world… if you know how to do it right. So, whether you’re a local or a a couple in town to celebrate love’s day, I’ve got some ideas to make your Valentine’s day special.
Ultra-Romantic and Luxurious V-day
If you’re looking to really wow your special someone this year, I’ve got just the suggestions for you. I’ve compiled the best-of-the-best that Bright Light City has to offer so that you can show your sweetheart how much they truly mean to you.
To Do:
Unquestionably, Las Vegas hotels are home to some of the most luxurious spas in the world. The spas at the Bellagio, the baths at Caesar’s Palace, and the newest spa at Encore are, no doubt, the finest in the world. While they all may be nice, the majority of the public areas are split by gender (makes sense when clothing is optional!). Doesn’t do a lot if you’re a guy taking his girl out for a romantic day-date. That’s why I recommend the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Part of the City Center, the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental is probably the most opulent and luxurious spa on the Strip. This sexy 27,000 square foot spa features a gorgeous hammam and tile tepidarium chairs that offer views of the city. 7 of 17 of their private spa suites cater to couples, letting you relax with private steam showers, personal soaking tubs, and breathtaking city views. With a blend of Western techniques and holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine rituals for hot stone massage, Swedish Massage and custom-blended essential oils, the service at Mandarin Oriental is second-to none. And, because it is a non-gaming hotel, you won’t leave the spa to have your zen ruined by the loud sounds and bright lights of slot machines. The most expensive (and for good reason) spa on the Strip, a 2 hour Signature Spa Therapy is around $400/ea, depending on when you reserve.
To Eat:
In Las Vegas, great restaurants are everywhere. Unquestionably, the most exclusive dinner reservation is at Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesar’s Palace. The most breathtaking view of the strip comes from the 360degree rotating restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere Hotel. The most popular romantic restaurant is Mon Ami Gabi at Paris, with views of the Bellagio fountains. But this is Valentine’s Day, and you need something special and ultra-romantic for your sweetheart. That’s why I recommend the Alizé at the Top of the Palms. This astounding restaurant is located regally atop (on the 56th floor) the Palms Casino resort and offers 280 degree views of the Strip through 16-foot floor-to-ceiling windows. A blend of modern and traditional French cooking, and with a 7,500 bottle wine cellar, the Alizé is truly one of best restaurants in Las Vegas and is consistently named “most romantic restaurant in Las Vegas.”
To Stay:
PS: Don’t forget the stereotypical, everyone-does-them, cliché things like red roses, a box of chocolates, and a sappy card. We girls still love the old-fashioned romance!
