5 New Year’s Resolutions for the bride-to-be #1
Posted by Jerri Woolworth in Blog | January 03, 2020Congratulations!
He popped the question on New Year’s Eve at the stroke of midnight! Or maybe he gave a heartwarming proposal in front of friends and family at Thanksgiving dinner. Or he got down on one knee amongst the lights and tinsel by the Christmas tree. Getting back to work after the first of the year is so hard with all the thoughts of dress designers, color palettes, and guest lists filling your mind. That resolution about losing 10 pounds isn’t so much for a regular summer bikini, anymore, but for a bikini on your HONEYMOON!
Now what?
Luckily, I’ve compiled a list of new year’s resolutions specifically for you, the bride-to-be. Maybe you’ve made these resolutions before, but they’ll take on special meaning now as you plan for your big day!
Resolution 1: Read More
This is a common New Year’s resolution. Maybe it’s been college since you read a novel. Maybe you’ve done nothing but read Twitter updates since you were forced to for English 101. The first resolution for you, the bride-to-be is read more. This should be an easy one to accomplish, with no shortage of bridal magazines out there. Here’s a few of my favorite bridal resources, blogs, and idea pages.
- Pinterest – Don’t follow whole users (except me, of course), but follow individual boards that will help with the planning process. If you’re thinking of a shabby-chic wedding, you probably don’t need to follow a board entitled “My most favorite sparkly, super-modern, ultra glamorous, totally over-the-top wedding board!” Check out some of my favorite boards on my page.
- Every Last Detail Blog – Lauren and the team at ELD do an awesome job of showcasing some of the best in the industry and offering amazing advice and insight into pieces of your wedding that often go overlooked. Every Last Detail is a great resource for beautiful (but achievable!) design.
- Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine – I have been a Wedding Style Platinum member for a few years now and love being a part of a community that is continually changing the game and staying ahead of the curve. To say that Wedding Style is the authority on wedding style in the US and UK would be an understatement. Check out their blog, their tabletops (featuring yours truly!), and their platinum list vendors for the best in the business.
Next up: Resolution 2 – Value Family (an especially difficult one, sometimes…)
